General Manager - Construction

We have been involved in the heavy civil construction industry for over 30 years and currently employ 100 - 150 employees during peak season. Our business consists of quarry operations and aggregate processing, asphalt plant operations, and a concrete batch plant which operates as a seperate entity servicing commercial and residential customers, as well as, supplying concrete for the parent company's construction projects. In addition to these localized operations we normally have 4 - 5 site projects of various sizes ongoing at any given time. We are currently seeking the services of a well rounded General Manager to oversee our day to day operations and to provide direction for future development. Specific duties will include:
- assisting in developing timelines for all projects undertaken by the company
- providing on-site management and technical direction for employees, site supervisors, and sub-contractors.
- monitoring project progress, productivity, and efficiency of employees.
- contributing to the development of an overall construction plan.
- communicating performance results to owners/management on a daily basis
- working with owners/management to address issues and potential problems.

The ideal candidate will have a Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline coupled with 5 years experience. Previous experience in water and sewer line installation, road construction, and commercial site development would be an asset.
